What did you notice about the repeated Mars/Mercury sextile over the past week?
On the world stage, there were unprecedented talks between President Trump and President Putin followed three days later by an assembly of European leaders at the White House. Mars represents War; Mercury-communication. They all talked about ending a war, planning for a different future than the path they have been following. This is a sextile, productive rather than antagonistic, yet unlikely to create a dramatic reveal. Instead it is an important step of planning, talking rather than fighting. Astrologically notable, is that these notable double talks occurred within 24 hours of the repeated double sextile.
What was your personal experience of this double whammy? It can be industrious or gut wrenching depending on your natal chart and experiences. At the core of it was the feeling of “I should be doing something about a problem”. I observed others suffering from overthinking because they struggled not clear on what action to take to relieve the internal sense of agitation. What path to take? Another person attended a journaling class. For me, I ended up with five days of intense writing prepping for a new project I am launching soon.
The astrological meanings of Mars and Mercury apply directly to each of these options. Some feel good, some awful and some are cathartic. Some charts, this is a minor blip and they hardly noticed it.
When planets go retrograde, they will have the same contact with any planets they encounter along the way. Think of walking past a coffee shop on your way somewhere, then you pass it again later when you return. As you pass the coffee shop at minimum you smell the coffee and decide if you want to stop there each time. (Not the greatest metaphor, but it is early, enough at least to get the idea.)
This Mars Mercury sextile was notable because the two contacts happened so close together, making it easier to see how powerful a sextile can be when you bother to notice it.
